This just in from our friends at the ABC:

1. Fire Ready – with the fire season coming earlier and lasting so long – are we ready?

2. NSW Burning – a report on the latest from the devastated parts of NSW.

3. Bush Walk – the other side of life near the bush – Mr Freeze has been walking and photographing the trails in the local high country for 25 years – he shared his stories and pictures with James Vyver

4. Wheel Walk – until now a walk in the wilderness has not been possible for people with mobility impairments – David Strattan bucks the trend and despite his MS – goes sauntering though the countryside in the ACT Govt’s new all-terrain wheelchair.

5. Whistler Sky – Editor Rowen Grant made a film when he was in Canada – and we stole it share with you.

I must admit that recently I have been forsaking 7.30 on a Friday for the delights of SBS. Fabulous series about the suburbs/streets of London and now a new series of Coast.

Just to kick things along (re the first item)…….it is, of course, a well known fact that protected trees on urban blocks present no fire risk whatsoever – all you need is a fire plan which involves clearing the roof at least once per day during the fire season (and praying a lot, if you’re into that sort of thing).
