This just in from our friends at the ABC:

1. War history wars – historians claim that the ANZAC legend is flawed and clichéd – and that the Australian nation was not formed at Gallipoli, rather it was formed at Federation.

2. Hobbit author – Canberra author Scott Baker ( who worked as a colour grader on the Hobbit ) has used his film experience to make dramatic movie trailers for his latest novel.

3. Kids at the Zoo – the young people who work at the zoo, shovelling poo – for the love of the animals.

4. Whales – our own Russell Coight ( Jeremy Thompson ) went whale watching last weekend .. with some success.

5. Closer – the art works of the Tin Shed group at the Watson Arts Centre.

Not one of their best shows by all means. As soon as it started and the opening titles were all old war footage I thought the whole show would be a November 11 rehash of Anzac so I turned it off. Reading your synopsis I realise that was a good decision. Hobbit, animal lib, whales crap. Yawn. I think the Gay BC is winding down for the year and counting the days until the ratings end so they can head off to the beach.

The zoo item had an abundance of material for anyone studying the rising inflection. They must teach kids how to do this in school.
