Thus just in from our friends at the ABC:

1. Fracking horse riders – they’re riding from Grafton to Canberra to protest against mining for coal seam gas on their properties. Jeremy Thompson joined them at a pitstop.

2. Mapping the world – Russell Crowe opens mapping exhibition at the National Library – the maps are interesting.

3. Carer Fashion – mum and carer has set up a fashion business so her daughter with a disability can have a future.

4. Hannah Cabinet – nice guy, extraordinary craftsman.

5. Boundless – the choral efforts of Canberra identities – to support a kid’s park. Kimball and Shirley can’t sing.

Very nice, as always, but I am sometimes reminded of the sign out front of the Springfield Retirement Home – “Thank you for not mentioning the outside world”. Next week’s coverage of the PS cuts could, just, be interesting.

Thanks for mentioning what I’ve been feeling about this show for a long while. Insular is the word I’d use. I know that we should be thankful for a local magazine show on TV in these days of cutbacks and centralising things in Sydney but this program is becoming more and more self indulgent and pandering to a small and elitist minority. Hopefully the silly season break will give the producers a chance to recharge and come back in the new year with a revitalised show with wide appeal like we used to see back in the Stateline days.
