Top Bargain Tuggeranong

Feeding my insatiable desire for cheap and quirky stationery means I spend a lot of time in the discount shops. This creates a pretty high tolerance for poorly crafted advice and signage.

This new sign by Top Bargain in the Tuggeranong Hyperdome has raised the ambiguity bar beyond my wildest expectations.

Good job.

What is the attraction with these stores?

I have to say, the Asian ones are excellent for pet stuff, especially padded boxes for them to sleep in. You’ll pay a hunge or more for a padded house in pet shops, but at the cheap shops, they variously have them for 20 bucks or so.

The bi lo/sam’s ones have closed up in Quangers recently. Shame, they were good for cheap plant pots.

Koresh Doctor Do You Mean Not “Why do not you write them a note, we will see that you already know how to write in the second language. It does not matter, if you want to use Mandarin / Arabic script, no one waiting for you to learn how to draw Chinese characters.”

Why don’t you write them a note in Chinese and we’ll see how much sense you make writing in a 2nd language. It’s okay if you want to use the Mandarin/Arabic alphabet, no one is expecting you to learn how to draw Chinese characters.

I’m reasonably sure that OP isn’t trying to do business in China.

Now now Poetix we gotta give Bronchum a little credit after all he can fish!

I think this is quite clear and way better English than the pretentious “made for Pseud’s Corner” hokum that manningclarkhouse have posted re “timbre fetishism” (puh- lease!).

What is the attraction with these stores? I can get lost n them for hours! Last time I went in the one at Conder I came out having spent 80 on craft items for my son that lasted all of half an hour. $80 in a $2 shop is pretty good going!

I like their use of ‘thx’ instead of thanks… What an age we live in.

And this month’s “Humourless git of the month” award goes to…

I once bought motionless sticky notes from their Civic store – I know it’s true because the docket said it was stationary.
