There’s a total fire ban on today – N/NW strong winds expected later today, on top of pretty dry conditions.

Certainly getting pretty crispy around our parts.

And this just days after the official end of the fire season…

And possible snow up in the hills tonight. Go figure…

Crazy weather, innit? Last night, the Bureau issued for our area a severe weather alert for strong winds, a sheep grazier’s alert, and a total fire ban!!! The fire ban and the grazier’s alert are still in force. Fingers crossed for some rain, there’s a giant blob on the radar cmoing up against the ACT western ranges, hopefully it moves over us. Very very cold cloud behind it, I reckon it’ll be colder than they’re saying when that reaches us.

Been an eerie kind of day … cloud but no rain … gloomy … windy …

Driving around Belconnen this afternoon, I had visions of 18 Jan 2003, but without the heat …
