BTW only Miami Horror is listed as being “live”. What are the rest? Dead? Or cardboard cut-outs with backing tapes?

miami horror is a DJ, so usually mixes pre-recorded stuff, by saying “live” means he’ll have a band/play instruments etc. rather than just playing music (it took me ages to work that out too)

Where’s Cut copy/Sparkadia/The Panics/You am I/ Darn it, last year was awesome. Still I feel obligated to go every year otherwise it may die.

I hope they get the wether proofing of the speakers sorted out this year, they had major problems with the right side speakers due to the bad wether last year, made Bliss and Esso sound crappy.

I agree, its about time The Vigilantes came out of retirement and did a gig. They were a truly magnificent band, the best in Canberra. Just seeing The Vigilantes perform again would be worth the price of admission on its own.

I’d like to see The Vigilantes, The Nipples, The Pussies, The Micro Minis, The Sluts, The Stupids, The Social Cripples, The Not Very Goods and Kamahl on the bill.

this is an AWESOME line up! hilltop hoods are awesome, went to thier sold out show and they were sooo good! drapt ive seen and is pretty good, and although i dont really listen to karnivool, ive seen them live and thier stage presence and that is great,i enjoyed watching them. And just for kicks i wanna see after the fall, cos i used 2 luv them and saw them like 8 times!
…just hope it doesnt rain like last year!

I’ve been keen to see Drapht live for a while… this might a good chance.

In response to a few comments above –

While I’m sure there will be something well down the list in later announcements, I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest a local act (and not a competition winner) might be nice to see in the line up.

I would suggest that this event more so than Stonefest requires your support if it is to continue presenting quality music (albeit indirectly selected by Richard Kingsmill) in Canberra. By all means, don’t go if you don’t want to, but don’t be surprised or disappointed when it’s not here next year.

I’m not into hip hop but Hilltop Hoods are pretty good and a big drawcard.

Karnivool are one of the best international touring bands in Australia right now and sure to get bigger overseas. Outstanding musicians.

I also like what I have head of The Basics.

Maybe most people here would be better suited to see Susie Q for the 5th time this year.

Eewww Hilltop Hoods. Definitely won’t be going this year. Stonefest has a much better lineup.

Does anyone know how much the tickets will be? I looked on the sites listed on their Myspace page but they don’t have any details about Trackside.

I’d say $75 – 85. It has been for the last two years and I doubt they would raise the prices… no-one would pay over $100 for a festival like this in canberra

Wooooo Karnivool!

This sounds good. Very good.

Thanks for letting me know that half my staff will be taking leave for this. arrghhhh.

I have seen some shit lineups in my time and this one definitely has shit smeared all over it.

So who would you have on the bill, Bannister?

Sigh… yet more music I can’t get into. Looks like no more gigs for me this year. What a magical youth!

Yeah last year was epic… not overly impressed with that lineup 🙁
