TransACT VDSL2?

I see in whirlpool there is some limited roll-out of VDSL2 which a 30Mb/10mb package posted on the TransACT site.

I can’t see any other official notice of when this will be available to all and more to the point where it will be available.

ie will all phase1 customers get the bump in speed? or just areas with new cable?

yep it looks like my guess was more-or-less correct, TransACT is upgrading there VDSL network, so faster speeds are coming…

yes I’m assuming that your “supernode” and/or poletop box would need to be upgraded to allow VDSL2 , but its quiet likely they are not yet completed unless they are quietly upgrading there backend to cope with the faster speeds etc…

Your guess is as good as mine.

I’m on cable, not VDSL, but wondering if they could do the same deal for us. I’m thinking about calling TransACT to see what they can offer.

As the OP in WP said he had his modem upgraded (for free!), so it’s a bump up of existing customers.

The TransACT ‘cable’ is VDSL, all they are doing is upgrading the technology on either end of the cable to be VDSL2 capable.
So yes, if you are on ‘cable’ (e.g. able to get TransTV), then you should be able to get VDSL2 when the equipment in your area is ready.

As I posted on that forum, the TransACT website has the VDSL2 plans available now, so I would assume the sales/billing staff will hopefully know more details about it.

I’m planning on calling them up and trying to get an answer if I can get an upgrade too. (Turner)
It seems older areas with original TA cable have been getting the new plans (according to posters on Whirlpool), so this isn’t limited to the FTTH areas such as forde.
