The ABC is reporting that tributes are coming in for former chief minister Trevor Kaine who died recently at the age of 80.
Trevor Kaine served as the Liberal opposition leader in the ACT’s first Legislative Assembly under self-government and became the Territory’s second chief minister seven months later.
Mr Kaine suffered a stroke five years ago and had been in ill health since.
ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope has offered to hold a state funeral for Mr Kaine.
