After people queued out the door to for the State of Origin special in July, Tuggeranong Arts Centre Comedy Club’s August show is set to be even bigger with popular Melbourne duo ‘Smart Casual’ playing its exclusive Canberra show.
The TAC has stamped itself as one of the premiere comedy venues in Canberra and, along the revitalised local comedy scene, is attracting some impressive performers.
The Raw Comedy national finalist, Smart Casual, will perform at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre Comedy Club on Tuesday, August 3, in their solo Canberra show.
The duo made up of Roger David (on guitar) and Fletcher Jones (on beard) is arguably Australia’s smartest, most casual musical comedy act.
Regularly featured on Triple j, the two-piece performed its low fi-com-rock to sell-out audiences at the Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney comedy festivals in 2010. In 2009, it featured in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s hand-picked selection of hot new talent, The Comedy Zone, before going on to tour nationally and internationally on the Festival Roadshow.
‘Exceptionally clever and well executed… destined for big things.’ – Buzzcuts
‘Immediately likeable…Aussie laconic humour is alive and well’ – The Age
The show, hosted by Green Faces national winner Tob Gibson and supported by the finest performers from Canberra’s revitalised comedy scene, is Smart Casual’s only Canberra show – so don’t miss it!
