ED – No need to be nasty about the “gushing” from the CT. NYE was an excellent film and for it to be selected in the final 16 is outstanding enough.
Fact it won best score is impressive in itself as many films got nothing…

It was quite the co-ck-up… everyone was doing a good job of being quiet and then about 25 seconds into the minute a TransACT ad started playing on the big screen… then it paused for about 5 seconds and then started up again…

Once the ad had finished the crowd sort of laughed and gave up on the minute silence.

“I will forgive the cock up during the Victorian Bushfire’s one minute silence… whether it was stealth advertising from TransACT or just someone not paying attention I will never know but Tim Finn- that I will not forgive.”

Anybody who mentions their own name and the word “celebrity” in a sentence as often as that eejit Scotty does is bound to get up anyone’s nose.

Jessie Duck – i couldn’t agree more. In fact it was quite a huge topic where i was sitting. Was Tropfest not equipped enough to broadcast a live performance? Maybe Tim had been on the grog and the organisors deemed him unsuitable for national broadcast! That would be funny. I would have much rather seen Tim play than that half assed game. I was really looking forward to it.

Also congrats to Geir. A silent achiever. Good bloke too.

There weren’t that many smokes so it wasn’t too bad, still irritating though.

Have those two gits instead of Tim Finn, definitely a big mistake and the worst part of the night.

Oh my. That was my first Tropfest and first major event in Canberra. The setting was great, weather was tops and I thought it was well organised but Scott and Nige give me the irrits. Not only were both “games” lame (was the beach ball thing a game?) but they seem unable to actually host without referring to their notes every 10 seconds. Except for when one of them, I forget which one, kept saying “Epic fail”. Obviously regurgitates all of his jokes from articles on Facebook faux pas.
