Dirtbag began trash parents who both leave young children un supervised and also who let children who are far top old to be on there in the first place.

It’s bloody rare but for once we are in agreement

What? That you can’t spell or construct a sentence?

Tired fingers and a even more tired brain!

Been a tough year bro.

Tougher than having your child assaulted in a play area at a club? No, I didn’t think so.

IP

Excuse me? You have exactly zero idea of what I have had to deal with this year. What a dumb ass comment to make.

Do tell.

I could have won the lotto or I could have had a child die of cancer.

Who knows?

Well, the Lotteries Commission. And the newsagent. Possibly your bank manager would be onto something. As for the other, I’d say the doctors, the hospital and the funeral director. Hope that helps.

Well unless my IRL name is Comic and Gamer Nerd, I doubt they would know who I am, let alone inform petey by of my identity and what has happened to me this year.

But you asked who would know if you had won the lottery and/or had a cancer death in the family. I still think those sources would be reliable.

Grooannnn

Ok I will pay that

This is one of the few places with a decent kids playground. When I have been, there is often a ‘super visor’ in this play room (even if she looks 12 years old herself)
The design is such that the playroom is divided into 2 separate rooms, the small kids play area cannot be seen from the eating area outside, but the video games area can.
I usually stay with my kids. The annoying bogans leave there kids there and let them continuously push the exit button, thus freeing themselves to annoy diners.

When I was a kid and my parents took me out to dinner at restaurants, clubs and pubs I sat at the dinner table with my parents and ate my food. I didn’t run around causing havoc for other patrons. There were no kids areas because restaurants, clubs and pubs were for grown-ups and I was there as a guest of my parents.

I have no argument with what you are saying but there is no reference to the parents dining. The Hellenic Club is a pokies joint (one of Canberra’s biggest). I am not saying that these parents were playing the slot machines but I’m sure some players leave their kids in the children’s play area because leaving them in the car park is sometimes frowned upon.

Exactly what I was getting at. It’s fine for my kids to play in these things as a treat, but they are supervised.

sigh. Yep. And people who lament why there aren’t kiddie-friendly restaurants in local shops, well, who wants to run a zoo?

I am usually quick to judge neglectful parents, but on this occasion I don’t think we should jump to conclusions. The parents may not have been told about the incident by the child until well after the event. As for leaving the child there unsupervised, well we don’t actually know that occurred either – the parents may have been present or nearby, but didn’t see what occurred.

IP

Exactly, especially when some of these play areas have those massive big plastic castles in them. The kids just disappear into them.

Pete,
You have basically nailed it.
I can’t go into any more detail though.

I are liking your word sy stem for it good arranging ideas for doing the tell faw others.

It does get pretty awful in there when it is packed.

If only canberra had some decent restaurants at local shops, fronting onto p arks, then half of canberra wouldn’t be crushing into the hellenic club indoor play area.

10 to 18 vague much?

Critical of a child victim (because that’s who would’ve provided that description) for not being specific enough for you? Nice.

Nope. I interpret this as (rightly) being critical of the parents who took 40-48 hours to report ‘the incident’.

10 to 18 vague much?

I took that to mean “older than the witness, but not a grownup”

It gets pretty rough past 7pm on a Friday at the Hellenic Club kids area…
