A truck driver was taken to hospital in a critical condition after a single-vehicle crash on the Majura Parkway this morning (13 January).

The northern section of the parkway is closed to northbound traffic as of 1 pm and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

Police believed the truck crashed into a road barrier at around 11 am, an ACT Policing spokesperson said.

It is the only vehicle involved in the incident.

The police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the scene and an ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said he was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
