Before they became Sutherland they actually started as Eastlake Woden and then went on to become South Woden. Im pretty sure they played in red and white stripes until they became Sutherland and then wearing the red, white and blue which then stayed until then became Tuggeranong Cowboys and wearing the Adelaide Crows colors and then went on to become Tuggeranong Hawks and wearing the Hawthorn colors

Many people might not know that the Tuggeranong Bulldogs were originally called the Sutherland Bulldogs. Nobody knows where the name Sutherland came from but they persisted with the name until 1981 when they became the Tuggeranong Bulldogs. My father worked as a chef at the Sutherland Football Club in 1979, and I’m pretty sure this was before Vikings and the Southern Cross Club were established in the valley.
