ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a number of vehicle and grass fires in the Calwell and Theodore areas this morning.
Around 6.13am this morning (Saturday, September 24) ACT Policing and ACT Fire Brigade attended five separate incidents of vehicle and grass fires in Calwell and Theodore.
One vehicle fire occurred at Were Street, Calwell and a second vehicle fire was located at Ern Florence Crescent, Theodore. There was a fire on the bike path behind Theodore Primary School, a small grass fire near the underpass at the corner of Tharwa Drive and Were Street, Calwell and another grass fire near the netball courts at the Calwell Playing field, Were Street, Calwell.
Police have spoken to members of the public who witnessed a number of young persons running from these locations.
These incidents may be related to the fires that occurred on 16 September 2011 in the Calwell and Richardson area.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to these latest incidents to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
