Territory And Municipal Services are warning that they’re closing the entire width of the Tuggeranong Parkway in both directions next weekend while they sort out the new lanes from the Gungahlin Drive Extension. The closure is from the Lady Denman Drive off ramp and the Glenloch Interchange.

The closure times are: 11.00 pm Saturday 14 May 2011 to 5.00 am Monday 16 May 2011 and 10.00 pm Saturday 21 May 2011 to 5.00 am Monday 23 May 2011.

actually I added “width” for grail’s benefit.

Although given the story was perfectly clear within the paragraph I really care naught for his RSS reader blues.

The section between Lady Denman Drive and the Glenloch Interchange are not “the entire Tuggeranong Parkway”, which extends for many kilometres down to Kambah where it becomes Drakeford Drive.

I wonder if better wording would have been, “[TAMS are] closing all lanes of the Tuggeranong Parkway at the Glenloch Interchange construction site …”?

I came here from my RSS reader expecting notification about military exercises, or shocking news about water washing away the roadbase from underneath the parkway on Oakey Hill. Instead what I got was just very poor reporting.

Might I suggest reading properly before you post. The original story states the ‘entire width’ not the ‘entire length’ of the Parkway.

The width would be all lanes across the road.

Sonebody slid right past that little word “width”?

What? You mean that for two days they’re actually going to have one of those construction sites where they actually do some construction work?

No one said anything about construction work; they’re just closing the lanes and ‘sorting’ them.
