Territory and Municipal Services are warning that the Government’s Tuggeranong shopfront is on the march:

To assist in the move, Tuggeranong Shopfront will be closed to our customers on Friday 27 April and Monday 30 April 2012.

“Currently located in the Tuggeranong Homeworld Shopping Centre, the Shopfront is approaching the end of its lease and as a result will move to a new location at the opposite end of the car park within the same complex,” Mr Colussi said.

“The business will close for two days to allow for the move and reopen at its new location on Tuesday 1 May 2012.

“The new venue offers all the same services only a short distance from the current location. Customers will still be able to use the same car park as they always have.”

Two days to move? Ah, yes, of course. Rather than pay property staff O/T over a weekend to move, they shut down and move during business hours. Got to love false economics…

2 days is pretty good if you ask me. I know of places where you got moved about every 6 months- if you were lucky your phones would get switched over in a few days. Thats assuming the network connection was patched properly as well….

I hope their new accommodation is better and more comfortable for them and their clients.

The old Sportsman’s Warehouse store?

Moving it closer to the bottle shop isn’t gonna be good for anybody. “Pay rego? … buy booze? … pay rego? …. buy booze? …dammit!”

I imagine it might also be a distracting temptation to the staff.

When I saw this heading I though…’Yeah, bloody typical. Move from a place where the parking is free (Homeworld) to a place where you’ll be paying for it (Hyperdome)’

Then I realised the Hyperdome actually has nothing to do with this story 🙂
