Tweed Ride 2 - Unleash the carnage!

The previous and inaugural Tweed Ride finished in a police complaint (by a Tweed Rider), a complaint to the Human Rights Commission (about comments made by Tweed Riders), and is still the subject of ongoing litigation such that I can’t even write much about it (and nor will we in the comments thank you).

Who would have thought that polite, well dressed, people cycling calmly around Canberra on a sunny day could unleash such carnage?

Well lock up your vintage clothes because tweed on wheels is hitting the streets of Canberra once more!

It’s time to hit the op shops, get yourself an outfit, pump up the tires on your old rattler, and have some old fashioned fun!

Slideshow of previous Tweed Ride (that dare not speak its name) below:

Trawling the Gorman House Markets (google it) and the half-dozen Salvos op shops around Canberra is a great way to build your woollen wardrobe. Looting the grandparents is a fair strategem too 😉

However, in the absence of greybearded relations on this continent, my cap was acquired from DJs.

The memory hole strikes again, eh.

Jivrashia: Probably the best thing to do is jump in the car and head for King St, Glebe. Lots of good vintage shops along there.

The fact that Johnboy’s original recounting of how [EXPUNGED] and [EXPUNGED] were [EXPUNGED] has been completely obliterated off RiotACT’s servers should be a sign to readers that going on a Tweed Ride in Spring could be quite interesting.

Forbidden gossip of arcane events is sure to be heard.

Seriously, where does one obtain these vintage clothes (lovely as they are) in Canberra?
Especially like what Steve and the lady are wearing in the 1st photo.
Garage sale?

(actually, I do own a cap similar to the one Steve is wearing, but then I nicked that from my ganpa)

P.S. Hope the group has some fit blokes to take up the rear flank in order to avoid a recurrence of an unprovoked attack.

lets hope the guy who took the swing at one us isn’t around this time.

Awesome!!!
