The SMH brings word that Brumbies pivot Christian Lealiifano has had a lovely time in Waikato and feels his stint there has really enhanced his game as he squares off against Giteau and Toomua for a spot in the Brumbies 2011 starting lineup.

While he’s been playing off the bench in recent weeks Christian is going to be there as a rare Australian participant in a New Zealand national provincial final against Canterbury.

Lealiifano isn’t the only Brumby out there though. New signing Henry Speight is also playing in the final for Waikato.

Henry Speight – Name + Fijian.

Must be a relation of famous George!

And if the ARU had given the ARC half a chance, we wouldn’t need to send our players over to NZ( or Sth Africa in Matt Tomua’s case last year).
Good luck to all of them, it should be a great game.

And don’t forget that Canberra backrower Jack Lam (brother of former Queanbeyan come Randwick backrower Seilala Lam) will also be playing for Waikato.

This guy would probably be a Brumby if they hadn’t of signed 3 other openside flankers. Jack Lam is every bit as good as them too.

So yes, there’s a strong Canberra connection there.
