Two dead in skydiving accident at Goulburn

Two people have died in a skydiving accident at Goulburn in the state’s Southern Tablelands today (27 June).

Emergency services were contacted about an aircraft carrying two skydivers that was in difficulty at around 12:50 pm.

NSW Police said two parachutists fell from the aircraft and landed near the runway of the airport.

They were located unresponsive and unable to be revived.

The circumstances surrounding the incident will be investigated by officers attached to the Hume Police District with the assistance of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
