Two men armed with knives robbed Woolworths Calwell last night

Two men armed with knives robbed the Woolworths supermarket at the Calwell Shopping Centre last night, making off with cash.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the aggravated robbery at the shops on Were Street which occurred about 9.35 pm last night (October 10).

The two armed men approached staff at the Woolworths counter and demanded cash. The staff complied with the demands and then the two men fled the shopping centre on foot.

Police conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the offenders.

Police describe the first man as being between 6’ to 6’3” (183 cm to 190 cm) tall, of slim build and wearing a red jumper and dark pants.

The second man is described as being around 6’ (183 cm) tall, of slim build and wearing a black jumper and blue pants.

Both men had their faces covered during the robbery.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around the Calwell Shops last night or who may have any information that could assist them to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
