Two men have been charged with 25 property offences following an investigation into a spate of burglaries in Queanbeyan earlier this year.

After a three month investigation by Monaro Police District officers, police arrested a 34-year-old man at a Queanbeyan home and an 18-year-old man at a Jerrabomberra home on Tuesday afternoon (16 July).

Around 5 pm on Wednesday afternoon (17 July), police executed a search warrant at a Queanbeyan address, where they seized high-end bicycles, a motorbike, power tools, electrical goods including mobile phones, computers and car stereos, hand tools and other property.

The 34-year-old Queanbeyan man has been charged with five counts of breaking and entering, one count of fraud, four counts malicious damage, three counts stealing and one count of entering a vehicle without consent. The man was also charged in relation to two outstanding arrest warrants.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday (22 July).

The 18-year-old Jerrabomberra man was charged with three counts of breaking and entering, four counts of malicious damage, three counts of stealing and one count of entering a vehicle without consent.

He was placed on strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court next month.

Police are in the process of locating the owners of the seized property and are encouraging anyone who may have had property stolen to contact the Crime Prevention Unit at Queanbeyan Police Station.
