The Canberra Times has a piece on the ever expanding University of Canberra snagging a wing of the old Cameron Offices to shove more foreign students into.

The university has secured ACT Government agreement to help clinch the $23 million deal and believes it could have its new student accommodation in one of the offices’ five wings open by the start of the 2012 university year.

UC has seen student numbers grow by more than 35 per cent since 2007 from 7300 to more than 10,000 in 2011 and is facing a housing crisis as acute as that of the Australian National University.

With plans underway to increase beds from 1,600 to 3,300 by 2018 there’s going to be a lot more deals like this.

Well, combine two stories (this one, and THIS one) and you have a nice little earner, either for the ACT govt or the Jae Mae Pty Ltd.
