Today I was in Garema place (once again) and I saw this band playing. It’s not uncommon to find local musicians that busk on the side of the street but it’s not every day that you find proper bands playing. Unlike many busking bands, the boys had a sign up stating who they were; Woodlock, originally from Victoria.

They had a really nice live sound, using pan pipes to create an almost ethereal sound. I found them on triple J Unearthed later and had a listen to their recorded songs. Woodlock has a really sweet and solid acoustic sound that got me relaxing straight away. If you feel like you need to expand your musical tastes then I’d give these boys a try.

I saw them today too, but at the time they were covering a Coldplay track and they seemed pretty down/flat.

Their entire lot of equipment appeared to be powered from a car battery.

You did not mention the collaboration with the man of African descent. They sounded fantastic together.

As I walked by, he was standing, say, no more than half a metre from ’em while they were performing, I got lunch, walked back by, and the man had taken centre stage LOL!

I didn’t see that! That would have been so cool.
