Unearthed Review returns to turn over another rock. Rather than choosing at random and being subjected to every lonely teen who thinks he’s the next Mike Skinner we’re going to work through the acts that have earned themselves a drum logo.

Today we’re having a listen to Edifice Architect.

He’s got this to say about himself (guessing it’s a he)

Been makin’ tunes for bout 7 years. Try to leave lyrics out of it so you make the story, the music just sets the mood. Hope you enjoy. Let me know what you reckon. Cheers!

Electronica is to music what photography is to painting.

There, I’ve said it. It’s been tearing me up since I started doing this. And I speak as someone who takes a lot of photographs.

This electronica? it’s nicely weighted, profound while only flirting with being ponderous. It’s quite good to have on while you’re writing.

At 2am in the right place, with the right people, it could be really really good.

But right now it’s just…

Three and a half stars.

What rubbish. Like back-beat-by-rote 3-chord rock music is any better.

Heard at the Folk Festival…

Q. “What’s the difference between a blues musician and a jazz musician?”

A. “A blues musician plays 3 chords to a thousand people. A jazz musician…”

Some of the most moving music I’ve ever heard need only 3 chords to work its magic.

Electronica is to music what photography is to painting.

What rubbish. Like back-beat-by-rote 3-chord rock music is any better. And if you haven’t seen awesome photography in comparison to many many paintings, you haven’t seen quality photography.

So, fixing it for you:

Electronica is to music what photography is to art.
