Today Unearthed Review bops along with Josef.

There are over 700 Canberra bands with tracks on the TripleJUnearthed website. In 2011 we’re going to explore them. (Previous reviews are available)

Today’s random selection is Josef who describes himself in these terms:

Just when he thought he was lost to the world, sucked into the bleak depths of a turgid law degree, Josef made a last ditch attempt to save himself. He brought his grandmothers piano to Canberra, wrote a few jingle, produced them stuck them on here. Every three seconds he gets a little closer to becoming another corporate lawyer. We must stop that from happening. Listen and Like. Join the Fight. Please thank you.

This is pop music the way it was meant to be, in the mould of Belle & Sebastian and Ben Folds.

I approach these reviews with a degree of trepidation, and occasional dread, but within 10 minutes of cranking up itunes with Josef I was smiling and toe tapping along.

The only downside is the recording is not brilliant. but the songs are still enjoyable.

Well worth making the free download.

Four stars.

Right on.

Josef is going to take over the world when he gets his shit in a sock on the recording front. He has more talent than is necessary or fair for someone from Mudgee.
