The George Harcourt Inn is inviting the punters down to help choose their wine list.

We think this is an excellent approach!

Canberra’s multi-award winning pub, The George Harcourt Inn, is taking customer participation to a whole new level, inviting patrons to “Unvined” and choose their own wine list during a “grape” day of wine and song on Sunday 5th May.

After winning Best Wine List at last year’s AHA (Australian Hotels Association) Hospitality Awards, The George is branching out with Unvined. In this unique event, customers will taste and vote on numerous wines from local and regional vines, accompanied by the sounds of smooth, sexy jazz from local band Dollface.

The George has invited well-known wineries and wine merchants to pitch their marquees and present their own four favourite wines in a friendly competition to win the customers’ approval. Wine tasting will run from 11am to 4pm. Participating vineyards and merchants include Southern Highland Wines, Z4 Wines, Jeir Creek Wines, Little Bridge Wines, Molly’s Cradle Wines, Mount Majura Vineyard, Long Rail Gully Wines and Pankhurst Wines.

Customers can purchase tasting wines by the glass and enjoy the opportunity to become wine connoisseurs for the day, voting with their pens as they jot down their own wine tasting notes.

The Liquid Feast wines, especially the Corkcutters Mataro and Sangiovese were great value for money
