Hey all,

We recently released an update to our application which we mentioned several times on this site before, and was featured on some local news channels.

Our free application now contains accurate bus times and routes, informs users of what bus trips are accessible for disabled commuters, and reflects what is available on the ACTION website, all without requiring a live internet connection!

As always, we appreciate your input and support, so feel free to check the app out at http://market.android.com/details?id=com.action, leave a comment or suggestion, or sign our petition for ACTION to release more data.

Visit our site at http://my-bus.com.au for more information!

Is the app open source?

I just downloaded the My Bus and the Canberra Elite apps. It’s great that The Imagine Team is building apps for Canberrans, but how frustrating that ACTION won’t give them the data!

When it’s finished, the My Bus app will be brilliant. Even now, it’s very useful, though only if you know the bus number. Well done.

Hi all,
We appreciate all your input and suggestions and will most certainly take them on board.
At the moment, we are only looking to develop on the iPhone and Android, but should there be enough demand for other platforms, we are more than willing to investigate development on other platforms.
As for the exact functionality of our app, again we appreciate your suggestions, and please, keep them coming! This release we focussed on having correct times and routes, and we will continue to work on both functionality and usability.
We understand there may have been some difficulties with some users, and we have released an small update into the marketplace, and we hope to have fixed some of the errors some users seem to be experiencing.
Again, thanks for all your support, and please don’t hesitate to drop us a line!

Just do not understand how ACTION has the audacity to charge $2.50 for their app..

ACTION don’t have an app.

It works fine if you know the exact bus number you’re trying to catch, but checking how to get from say, Civic to Tuggeranong via a 31X, doesn’t work.

Using a like instead of = and returning a selection of route.num, route.summary would let users find out about the 31X Intertown series buses (and select the 31 or the 31X ones) by inputting just 31, instead of only returning the Lyneham 31 route.
PS: Stability is an issue on a stock Nexus S running Android 2.3.2, ran it four times, crashed once.

Do you have a link for that JB? Very good news 🙂

Jeez, any tech news outlet in the world? But here’s a good start: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/02/11/nokia_microsoft_history/

Given that Nokia have just announced they’re killing Symbian I don’t like your chances.

Hi guys,
We realize that there are some problems with certain handsets, and we are working on releasing a fix very shortly.
As for development on iPhones, we are definitely looking into that, and we plan to head in that direction in the very near future.
Thanks for the input, and please dont hesitate to let us know should there be any other concerns or comments!

Good on ya guys. Once you get an iPhone App, I’ll be downloading it.

Same here – crash on startup.

I echo Dante’s question.

An iPhone app would be much appreciated.

Is a release scheduled for the Apple App Store?

I just tried it on my Nexus One (Android 2.2.2) and it keeps crashing on startup.
