A person was in their home in Palmerston late on Friday night (24 February) when a vehicle crashed into the building.

Officers were alerted to the incident around 10:20 and when they arrived at the scene they found the homeowner had been inside, but hadn’t been injured in the incident, ACT Policing said.

The alleged vehicle and its owner were spotted 100 metres away from the residence. Officers said this owner appeared to be highly intoxicated and allegedly refused to take a roadside screening test or say who had been driving at the time of the crash.

Police believe two others had also been in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but they had already fled the scene.
