A prototype light rail system demonstrated at the Malkara Special School on the 7-8 Aug 2010.

Can just see it chuffing down Northbourne Ave on a frosty winters morning.

[Toot! Toot!]

No need for boom gates, just use the pedestrian crossings, although the driver will have to get off to press the button.

They can run on shredded government documents, how to vote pamphlets and old business cards.

The first class carriage is enclosed but costs double … $4.

Get real Toots. What you fail to realise is the substantial cost to install signalling, and boom gates down Northbourne. It will cost millions per kilometer. Unless this Government slashes other services this will never happen.

Personally, I think the biggest problem will be how cold we would all get in winter, with our feet dangling like that. And think of the carbon emissions from the coal?
