Victory in the What? Jacqui Burke plugs Elvis festival

There’s a lot going on this weekend between a bledisloe cup game, the gutless capitulation of our cricketers, and the minor matter of the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two.

Personally I’m highly focussed and motivated on the aquiring and surviving of hangovers and the watching of the above mentioned sport. Which some might view as a waste of a weekend, but, in my own defence, I am working pretty much all day Sunday.

Jacqui Burke however is appealing to her natural constituency of sad, desperately wanting to convince themselves they are cool, weirdos. To that end she’s put out a media release under the headline “ELVIS LIVES ON” (no he bloody doesn’t) “reminding Canberrans that they can relive the timeless music of Elvis this coming week at a range of different events being held across the Nation’s Capital”

(If only they’d marketed it as “An Elvis Week bigger than the turd which killed him”).

Don’t get me wrong, the big guy was a great singer. But surely the circus has long ago moved on?

Ms Burke must be a….’hard-headed woman,
head like a rock’
and she ain’t gonna be my teddy bear.

“…the gutless capitulation of our cricketers…”

How very British of you, Johnboy.

Gives you the impression she just wanted to be noticed…

A dead-set oxygen thief and waste of taxpaying money.

I saw him down at Hungry Jacks (aka Burger King)
