On September 28, Vikings Group in partnership with Marymead will host a Bride and Groom Ball at the new Grand Ballroom in Hotel Realm.
Anyone and everyone is invited to attend, with funds raised going to support rebuilding Marymead’s Care Cottages which are now more than 50 years old. The Care Cottages provide support for kids and families from the local region who need emergency accommodation in times of crisis, and often have nowhere else to go.
Attendees are encouraged to come as a bride, groom, mother of the bride, father of the bride, wedding guest – or any other variation of a wedding ceremony invitee you can imagine!
You can buy one ticket or book out a full table for 10, and tickets include a three-course meal, drinks and a fun night of entertainment and prizes.
Anthony Hill, Vikings Group CEO, says it’s been fantastic to partner with Marymead as beneficiary of their Charity of the Year program for 2018-2019. The annual program allows Vikings staff to harness fundraising efforts for the year to support a cause they feel passionate about.
Fundraising activities so far have included Yoga on the Greens, a Ladies High Tea and Cocktails for a Cause, with efforts culminating in a grand ball which relies on public support to boost the final donation.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Marymead and assist in raising funds for such a worthy cause. Marymead puts so much into the community and needs all the assistance they can muster to be able to afford projects such as the Care Cottages.
“The community is at the heart of the Vikings Group. I encourage everyone to learn more about the good work Marymead does and to purchase tickets to the ball to support such a great cause.”
Jaclyn Callaghan, Communications and Fundraising Unit Manager from Marymead, says everyone is very excited for the night and the stars have aligned to make it truly spectacular.
“The support we have received from Vikings has been vital in funding the Care Cottages, which are purpose-built for children and families in need of short term emergency accommodation.
“Vikings’ fundraising program ends with a ball, and by chance we wanted to run the Bride and Groom Ball as we have done in previous years which is a lot of fun.
“The theme is a wedding, and everything is designed with that in mind.”
“Hotel Realm has very kindly offered to host us, and will deck out their grand ballroom in preparation for the event. So you’ll get the full wedding experience with a bridal registry, furnishings, linens, centrepieces, surprise wedding cake competition, throwing of the bouquet, dancing, all-night band, and more – and the money raised will go towards the new Care Cottages.
“We hope everyone will get dressed up, join us for a glass of bubbles, and have a fabulous night!”
The Bride and Groom Ball will take place on Saturday 28 September 2019 from 6:30 pm at Hotel Realm in Canberra.
