Vintage Flip Clocks?

Hey there,

I know this may seem odd but I’m super keen on a vintage wood flip clock/alarm/radio but I have no idea where to even look or start here in Canberra.

So I was looking for suggestions on where I might find my clock (other than ebay) or if any fellow rioters had a flip clock that is looking to go to a good home lol.

Your help will be much appreciated.

I’ve got one word for you: etsy. Click the search option to “Vintage” and enter “flip clocks” in the search field and I think you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Cheers 🙂

I’d imagine that the majority of the ones you could buy from Etsy would be corded (i.e not battery powered) and thus you’d get US plugs/voltage, essentially making them useless for use in Australia.

Cheers for your input guys. I might try those places around fyshwick. Other than that looks like I might have to ebay myself one. I just love that old wood look, bit tacky but for some reason i love it.

You can get new (but retro looking) plastic ones from Typo (In Canberra centre) but beware quality can be an issue – ours never kept the correct time so we eventually chucked it – plus it was just a clock and not an alarm which is a bit silly.
I would try googling.
You can also get an Iphone app which makes your clock face look like one and then you can stick your phone on some docking thing.

Try Down Memory Lane and the Canberra Antiques Centre.

Try the Jet Age section at Fyshwick Antique Centre on Townsville St. Or Down Memory Lane on Geelong St, also in Fyshwick.

You’ll just have to try your luck. Can’t say I’ve seen either store with a flip clock in the past but they’d be a good place to start.

try Op shops, or Tiny’s Green Sheds.

If you have no luck sourcing an authentic flip-ticker then maybe look at a modern take on the flip clock.
