ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating a single vehicle collision on Soward Way in Greenway where the single occupant has died.
Police on mobile patrol came across a silver Holden utility in a culvert about 10.10pm last night (Tuesday 21 December) in a secluded area of the street.
The deceased driver is believed to be a 46-year-old Bonython man.
Police are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the silver Holden utility in the Greenway area during the evening to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
UPDATE: Miraculously the road toll has now been revised down to 18:
The ACT road toll will remain at 18 at this stage following last night’s collision in Greenway.
Further investigation into the collision indicates the 46-year-old man had a medical condition which police believe may have been a contributing factor.
Around 10.10pm, police came across a silver Holden utility in a culvert in a secluded area of Soward Way.
ACT Policing is continuing to investigate the fatal collision. A post-mortem is expected to be carried out today, and a full brief will be prepared for the ACT Coroner.
One wonders how many other deaths can be re-defined.
