Visiting sportsman seeks casual employment.

I’m associated with a Canberra Sporting team that imports a number of overseas players for each winter season.

While some of their expenses(flights, accommodation and shared vehicle access) are covered they still need day to day spending money.

A complicating factor is that they rarely have a weekend free and train three nights a week.

Anyone out there got any suggestions re possible casual employment opportunities?

If you are bringing them in on Sport Visas you should be aware that they are not allowed to work for anyone other than the club that sponsors them. If they do ANY other work, they are in breach of their visa conditions. I’d suggest taking a look at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s website for more information as the last thing you would want is to have your players visas cancelled mid-season for being in breach of their visa conditions.

Thnks ace
How do you PM someone on here?

I am sure they could get a job behind the bar at Vikings when they are not playing for them……

Baseball players are typically ex college arent they? Surely there is plenty of temping work in this town theyre capable of. Night filling in woolies is something i did whilst at uni, pays well and a work out.

Pretty sure baseball is played in our summer, and the ABL just finished a few months ago? Maybe ice hockey??

Do these guys have visas that let them work in Australia?

Disability support worker.

What are their computer and people skills like?

I may have some commission based work coming up for people who can use a pc, construct a simple sentence and talk to people in the street. (not all required for all potential work).

I can send you more info if you PM me your email.

Cheers
