Vote 1 Samuel Gordon-Stewart

By johnboy 25 January 2006 59

Like cockroaches and Democrat voters, there appears to be no cure for the Australian Blog Awards.

Since the debacle of 2005 when the ballots closed 12 hours early as we were starting a calculated late run, and the regional awards are voted for multiply, we asked not to be nominated. We have been regardless, so we now ask you not to vote for us.

Rather please take a little bit of time to vote for someone who might take some vicarious joy from the rotten and incompetent process.

Vote 1 Samuel Gordon-Stewart

No preferences for RiotACT, no votes please. We only want the love to flow to SGS.

Thanks SpinsStartsHere for organising this worthy campaign.

[Yes, I’m going to keep bouncing this to the head of the page until death or victory greet us.]

[Oops, here we are again. Yes voting is a tediously painful process. But we can see the finish line people.]

[One last time folks, voting closes tomorrow, get in there and do your bit!]

Well, Samuel (or should I say his detractors?) succeeded nonetheless. Breath a hefty sigh of relief and get back to the sledging.

According to a comment on The Spin Starts Here, voting shut at 11.12pm last night.

Thumper 12:16 pm 26 Jan 06

Please make it stop!

SGS, get out there and win it mate!

That flippant comment about Democrat voters was enough to make me want to vote 10 times for this guy’s main competitor.

Oh please, if you can’t laugh then it’s time to cry.

DoppelFrog 12:23 am 26 Jan 06

I took the time read all of the ‘Best Post’ nominations and they are dire; really, really dire.
I can’t believe the garbage that passes for ‘blogging’. 🙁

“Anyway, I am sure the whole of the ACT will be rooting for young Sam”

It will be his first

Just sitting back giggiling to myself on the times at secondary where we would make the weird Dr fink noises from the simpsons at the nerds who pass by HMMM Kids can be so cruel

kimba 2:54 pm 23 Jan 06

OK, did my civic duty and voted for the hyphenated-named one.

I must admit it was very difficult to Vote 1 for Sammy in the ‘Best Humorous Australian Blog’ category as I don’t think he has a funny bone in his body.

Anyway, I am sure the whole of the ACT will be rooting for young Sam!

Yes, but I don’t want to win those awards…winning them will ultimately mean that I get another influx of spam comments, and another round of unwanted attention. I’m quite happy with my current readership level.

I consider my comment as being positive, even if it doesn’t look that way on the surface.

Thanks for the concern anyway Bodhichitta.

Bodhichitta 1:36 pm 23 Jan 06

Thats a pretty sad comment SGS. A positive attitude never hurt anyone.

Jey – Tanyawah is a creation of Hambo’s…

Thankfully this whole thing will be over in less than a week…I just hope Johnboy doesn’t make you all stare at me for eternity when I lose.

RandomGit 8:34 am 19 Jan 06
