Vote 1 SGS!

Canberra’s internationally renowned, award-winning blogger Samuel Gordon-Stewart is debating standing in the upcoming federal election, but he wants you to help him decide.

He says, “Admittedly, the chances of me actually unseating the current Labor member for Fraser aren’t great, but it is fairly obvious that I have a lot of views on a lot of subjects, and I think I could make a useful and interesting contribution to parliament.”

Well, dear reader, you may remember the great blog stack of 2006 and how that helped SGS to win not one but THREE (and one runner up) awards at the Australian Blog Awards.

So, why not head over to Sam’s blog and encourage him to stand. It could certainly liven up the campaign a touch.

And when it comes around to the actual election, remember that with preferential voting, you can Vote 1 SGS and still vote for whoever it is you might want in the big house on the hill.

And for those interested, here’s an interview with Sam by 2CC announcer Mike Welsh on the topic (apologies for the sound quality and the first few seconds may be silent).

I do loves my pop!

Sorry!
Some page came up telling me I had invalid codes or some bs!

Instead of stupid “Kevin07? t-shirts

My pop made me order one of those for him off the net (because he doesn’t have net access), he plans on wearing it when he goes and votes, and is sending me up a photo of him in it.

He also sent my uncle to school wearing an ‘it’s time’ badge during the Whitlam campaign.
*end nostalgic rant*

oh why oh why did I change my electorate?!?!

bonfire, i went to school with him and I can vouch he is real

i maintain sgs is not real.

i believe he is an elaborate practical joke conducted by anu or uc media students.

people shouldnt take everything at face value, for example, i have a sopwith camel and a zeppelin which im waiting for some guy to collect for an elaborate practical joke – but he never showed.

Instead of stupid “Kevin07” t-shirts there’ll be cardigans with “SGS07 – your daughter’s safe with me.” printed on the back.

i reckon good on him for giving it a go, regardless of any outcome, and whether or not i would vote for him.
i mean think about it.. we all sit here and whinge about everything.. that’s what RA is.. but sgs isn’t content to just make his views known on an internet site.. he’s considering going out and doing something about it.. so good on him if he does.

me, i’ll just sit here behind my veiled anonymity and whinge about the status quo, but not offer anything in return.

Come on – with Sam in Parliament, loud music will be banned, spicy food will be illegal, and train spotting will be compulsory! Hoorah, Vote 1 SGS!

I’m sure Samuel is a lovely chap but before he hits the benches I’d like some lass to sit on his face.
