Walk Against Warming will coincide with the International Day of Climate Change and will also be the mid-point of the Climate Talks in Denmark.

This is a symbolic day to come out and show you are willing to do something about climate change.

‘Last year more than 3,000 Canberrans came to walk and show their concern about climate change and we want to double that number this year’ said Susanna Chung, Conservation Foundation organiser. ‘The Walk starts at 11.30 and will end about 1.00pm.’

Comedian Rod Quantock will be doing a little comedy routine to show us the humorous side to climate change.

Reducing carbon emissions is the responsibility of everyone and, on Saturday 12th December, there are many examples of how this can be achieved with an environmentally friendly and sustainably minded market including a clothes swap, organic foods and drinks, and environmentally friendly retail products and services.

Come a little early and stay a little late to check them all out!

There will be live music, so bring your family and friends and a picnic lunch, and make a day of it – For our Precious Planet.

Anyone know what the parking situation will be like? I suspect it may be busy if 3000 people bring one car each (it’s the Canberra way, after all…)
