Criminal Investigations detectives have recovered a large amount of suspected stolen property following a search warrant in Wanniassa yesterday (Monday, August 8).

Around 11.15am, detectives from the Crime Targeting Team executed a search warrant at a house in Wanniassa, and seized large quantities of cosmetics, batteries, memory cards, DVD’s and games suspected to be stolen property.

The warrant was the result of an investigation commenced last month, after detectives received information from retailers regarding an eBay user suspected of on-selling property which had been stolen from their retail outlets.

The property recovered from the search warrant is valued at approximately $33,500.

A 55-year-old Wanniassa woman is expected to be summonsed to face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date on charges relating to the stolen property.

Stupid should really, really, hurt!

I know, I’ll advertise stolen goods on e-bay, as the retailers they were stolen from and the police would never think to browse e-bay for any suspicious sellers. What a great idea!

What a bitch.
