*CRASH!*
“Someone called for a grammar pedant? Seppuku is the infliction of wounds on oneself through disembowelment, AKA a form of suicide. If a person were threatening Seppuku in Wanniassa, onlookers shouldn’t have concern for their own safety, although it’d be an awful sight.
My work here is done.”

I don’t mean to be pedant, but is this a grammar problem? Cross-cultural linguistic interpretation problems maybe, but surely this is not a grammar problem. If Overlord had said “An Ninja appeared…” for example then we might have need of your services, but I really think you could have directed your powers more profitably in other areas. Consider the lack of an apostrophe in the first word of the second sentence….:-)

Wow you totally went the opposite direction to where I expected you to go. I was thinking someone would pull me up on the reference to a bushido ritual being performed by a ninja.

Instead you went totally the other way and didn’t even notice my attempt to make a joke about a guy appearing out of nowhere and holding a knife to his own stomach. Oh well, I tried.

Yet another brainless POS on the loose and for what,a pizza or two plus less than $50? Absolute farktard!

This sentence is a marvel of ambiguity:

‘About 9.30pm a pizza delivery driver was in his car in Byrne Street, Wanniassa when a man appeared in front of him holding a 30cm knife to his stomach demanding money.’

It can be read as a threatened suicide, or as an attack on the driver. It’s only from the rest of the information that it is possible to glean that the latter is the correct interpretation.

Awful experience for the driver.

You speak of it as if it was an action of a human.

It looks more like that a feral snarled at the poor driver to drop it some crumbs.
