Wanted: fencing bloke

I need a new gate for the back yard. Don’t care if it’s wooden or metal, but must be able to keep curious toddlers and stupid chooks in, and neighbourhood dogs out. Plain is good, cheap is better. Woden area.

DIY is not an option as I am a big fat pregnant heifer, and the blokes in my life have better things to do than fulfil my nesting urges.

Any recommendations on who I can call for quotes?

I know this is an old post but I wanted to give a quick plug to “Yard to Yard Fencing”.
http://www.yardtoyardfencing.com/
These guys recently replaced all my fencing and were absolutely brilliant. Handled my difficult neighbors with courtesy and respect, were very timely, clean and professional.
The owner Scott was more than happy to give me his experienced opinion on the variety of fencing options available. Even when I was asking about products that would have given him more profit on the job, he unselfishly suggested the best product for our situation, clearly explaining his reasons. If that’s not professionalism then I don’t know what is!
Seriously can’t go wrong with this company.

Tim McCreath. Have used him at 2 different properties. Rates compare well to other quotes, fences are straight, he turns up when he says he will 0418 555 623

I could make a corri gate (door size) for 2 cartons of beer. 🙂

Now you’re just being disgusting.

Well Emma, you now know why my keyboard is sticky.

But just a warning luv, your defence email address is visible. Better cover up now.

Dear emd
you can have mine, he’s a welder too!!

Ah. If only I’d known you in my distant youth, when I wielded foil, epee and sabre with little style but great enthusiasm, wearing an embarrassing top that tied from the sides and the .. umm … up inner-leg region. And a sweaty faceguard with what looked like heavy duty flymesh. We looked so COOL!
For that is what fencing will always be to me.
Seriously, though, try Ken at Custom Home and Garden Maintenance.

Pandy, you’re a wanker and you should learn some basic reading comprehension skills.

I also prefer “quitte”, I’m sure it would go down well with Canberra’s latte set.

Personally I think changing it to “quittë” would be preferred, Mael.

Would the entire world changing Quit to ‘Kwit’ help people out ?

I’d recommend Jim’s fencing, the Tuggeranong area guy except he recently quite and is now Jim’s Painting.

Need fence builder too – so the bogans below my fence will let their chain-mad dog off to roam the yard! She’s chained all and every day because there are holes in the fence. Thanks for reminding me emd, and I’ll keep an eye on the replies!

emd (how is defence these days?) I why does your husband not know how to use his tools?

BTW I know lots of men who are piss poor maintenance.

Better to do one thing well than many things poorly.

Being a master of one thing, is usually at the sacrifice of another.

apehammer, there have been frequent discussions on RA about “where’s the best fish n chips” or “where’s the best hairdresser”. All I want to know is “where’s the best fencing bloke”.

bonfire – he’s capable, just too busy chasing the rest of the kids to build a gate. I blame lack of good TV programming for our situation. Although I can’t say I’m disappointed 🙂

you need a new husband – if he is incapable of installing a gate, you are facing a life of endless disappointment.

Sorry to sound like a stick in the mud, but when did RiotACT become a classifieds forum?

From memory…”Steve & Johns Fencing” out of Qbn. Good job, cheap rates.
