Police have released footage of an alleged robbery at Coles Manuka on Remembrance Day and have asked for the public’s help to identify the apparent perpetrator.
ACT Policing alleges security cameras filmed the man commiting an aggravated robbery at the supermarket during the day’s Minute of Silence.
Police say he entered the service counter and used a large kitchen knife to force two cash registers open at 11 am on Monday (11 November).
He then fled the area on foot, allegedly with a sum of cash.
“No one was physically injured during the robbery,” a police spokesperson said.
Police described the man in the footage as being about 30 to 40 years old, Caucasian in appearance, with a medium build and short blonde hair.
He was wearing a navy blue cap, a blue jumper, dark pants and black runners, with a pair of glasses tucked into the neck of his jumper.
