Water, water everywhere and not a drop anywhere useful...

Whilst enjoying an afternoon stroll with my dear Stafford, I noticed the Chisholm firepeeps up on a crane hosing… something.

Or nothing.

I am not sure if they were training as I couldn’t see any sign of fire or chemical spill where they were hosing.

Does anyone know if this is a training exercise and, if so, why the water couldn’t be pointed in the direction of something needing it?

And given they were spraying fire-retardant foam, I don’t think you’d want it to necessarily mix with the water supply.

If it goes down the drain it ends up back in the river and then onto become Adelaides drinking water so it’s not entirely wasted.

I noticed some white foam (actually looked like snow) on the grass area beside the firestation on the weekend.

You know how you have five senses? Well, the rest of us have a secret sixth sense. It’s called ‘perspective’.

Not saying they shouldn’t test – just wondering why it has to be on a rainy day and the water directed at concrete paths. Jeez…

Nutjob.

Yes, I think firefighters should have their water-use restricted like everyone else.

“Sorry sir, we cannot extinguish the large blaze that is rapidly enveloping your home, as we’re on water restrictions and have been unable to test our equipment. As a result, we’ve turned up to your home and just realised that our pumps aren’t working properly. If only we’d been able to test this earlier.”.

Doofus.
