Weetangera grassfire

ACT Fire & Rescue and the ACT Rural Fire Service is working to extinguish a grass fire fire burning near Springvale Drive, Weetangera.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire has been set at ADVICE.

The ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service has nine units on scene.

The fire is approximately approximately half a hectare in size and is being controlled.

The fire is burning at a slow rate and is heading in a south easterly direction.

At the current fire danger level of low-moderate fires can be easily controlled.

There is little to no risk to life and property from this fire.

Fire has been contained and crews are carrying out mopping up operations.

12:48 PM

Fire has been extinguished.

Estimated size of area burnt is three quarters of one hectare.

Cause unknown and will be investigated.

Crews will remain on site to carry out patrol activities.
