We'll never get to meet the peebles

The ABC has the sad news that Labor front runner to take Jon Stanhope’s Ginninderra seat on countback, David Peebles, has turned his back on the chance, preferring his young family and a posting to the Solomon Islands.

That would appear to give Adina Cirson the box seat with Chris Bourke the other candidate.

Not that it’s relevant for the performance of her duties, but Adina Cirson would increase the average attractiveness of the Assembly quite considerably.

Why can’t we have a by-election?

This Duckworth-Lewis system is a sham!1!one!!

So, we’ll be getting an MLA with a representation of, er, 2% of the population?

True, but without Stanhope (so the theory goes) those people would have had a higher primary vote.

Haha.

Will Mark Parton be putting his hand up?
