People might be interested to know that GPT unitholders today approved the internalisation of GPT. What this means is that the previously announced (but conditional) sale by GPT of its part-share in Woden and Penrith Plazas to Westfield, and transfer of management rights in those centres to Westfield, will proceed.

Short version: Woden Plaza will soon be Westfield Woden.

Yes, it is the white tower building that used to be the MLC tower, I only know this because I had to go there on work experience last year though.

Good point. And you’re right – it will always be the Plaza. Just like people still call it Belconnen Mall.

But I think that for shopkeepers there this news might have more serious implications that a mere change of name – I know of at least one who was dreading this change.

No it won’t, it will _always_ be “the plaza”. Anyone remember the short-lived Woden Shopping Square name? didn’t stick. …anyone know what Lovett Tower is?
