1) Your blaming the government for the death?
2) This happens all the time,
3) its a shame we let some get away with so much because of their gender.
4) Like the lady that ‘fell asleep’ in wa and her child got into the washing machine and closed the door behind themselves.

1) no, I am not. The world I live in is a little more complicated than “It’s his/her/their fault”. DoCS sounds like they a) didn’t look after this woman when she was a child and b) didn’t respond adequately to complaints about her abusing her own child. So whether or not it’s “the government’s” fault, they certainly had opportunities to prevent it, temporally proximally and distally.
2) err, no it doesn’t. Women do not kill their children “äll the time”. Luckily it is extremely rare. It’s probably more common for men to kill their children (sometimes as well as their partner/ex-).
3) no-one got away with anything. She is being sentenced for murder.
4) Haven’t heard of that case, and don’t know what point you are trying to make.

If it *is* the government’s responsibility to break cycles of abuse and protect children from abusive environments and poverty, then the government should sterilise all criminals and all those living long-term on welfare.

Unless it *isn’t* the government’s responsibility,…..

Define “criminals” – speeders, drink drivers, illegal parkers? White collar criminals? These are all crimes. But I suspect you have your own definition of a crime and these won’t fit within it. When you’ve come up with a workable definition that doesn’t show racist, sexist or classist bias, we can discuss further.

They wouldn’t just be full, they’d be the size of a suburb!

Actually they could well be near-empty, because the men and women who fill them now, most of whom were abused as children, might have been spared that abuse and not turned out the way they did. Follow?

Same with physical child abuse and neglect – like the young woman in NSW who was failed by the care and protection system, then went on to murder her own child, how different would it have been if DoCS had done their job properly with her as a child?

I see where you’re coming from but the real problem has always been the uncontrollable desire in certain humans to pleasure themselves at the expense of the vulnerable which overrides any moral decency or consideration for the consequences of their actions.Until they evolve to a higher level and practise restraint and basic decency nothing will change.

According to the Australian Institute of Criminology one in three girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused in some way before the age of 18 years. There are no shortage of lowlife animals out there and unfortunately very few are caught and punished for their crimes.

And you wonder why the law never catches up with them?

Check out the Ernie Page on Wikipedia:

“”Indulgence is a pleasurable, curiosity-satisfying activity by an intelligent precocious girl.”” (Abused by her father) – Judge Nigel Clarke, WA

And on and on.
