A 95-year-old man has died in hospital following a collision in Weston last night (Thursday, November 22).
Around 6.45pm, the man was hit by a car while walking across Macnally Street near the intersection of Namatjira Drive in Weston. He was taken by the ACT Ambulance Service to The Canberra Hospital and died early this morning.
The driver of the car remained at the scene to assist police with their investigation.
ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating the cause of the collision and will prepare a report for the ACT Coroner.
The man is the eleventh person to have died on ACT roads this year.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision on Macnally Street in Weston last night and are yet to speak to police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
