Does any one know what is happening to brod burger? (You know, the red van that sits on the lake in Kingston)… They have the greatest burgers and while you have to wait it’s definately worth it!!! I’m hankering for a burger just thinking about it!

I have heard that they are apparently closing or being asked to move elsewhere. Can someone please confirm/deny this as it would be very sad to see them go!!!

Cheers 🙂

Lala

There was an article about them in the City News recently. Apparently they’re moving into the cafe space at the Glassworks. They will be expanding their menu and they promise the new premises will allow them to speed up their delivery times. To begin with the red van will go with them, purely to show customers their new location, but then it will be retired to their backyard.

I’m a fan. Been there 5 or 6 times, 10 minute wait, delicious burgers (beef ‘n’ blue cheese for me).

Don’t want to wait? Fast service required? I hear you can get a fancy angus burger in less than 2 minutes elsewhere…go there….the brodburger queues will be shorter

Thanks for the heads up, I don’t nomrally touch Mc Dog Food, but thought I would try out your suggestion; I purchased a Mighty Angus burger. Not the best in the world, but was ten times better than anything I’ve ever had from Brod, much cheaper, and service with a cute smile!

Your quoting skills are impeccable to say the least ConanOfCooma, however your sensory skills appear to have become quite confused. I believe this is due to excessive mastication of the male genitalia and consumption of excrement released by persons enjoying the deliciousness that is brodburger. Unfortunately, your condition has surpassed the initial stages in which you could have received treatment and from what you may have or may not have realized is that, well, you are pretty much FUBAR. As the future is bleak for you now, my professional advice is that you seek out another delicious treat from uncle Ronny and take it back to cooma with ya, gownnnn a git!!

Oh I read this as now is the time to GET over it.

I was ready with the applause and thumbs up.

Yep, half the price, 1/10th the wait and probably tastier anyway.

Brodburger, you used to be good man, but then you sold out and let the fame get to you. You’ve changed.

I don’t understand what all the fuss is. If people think these burgers are great you need to get out more, maybe it says something about the quality of food in the ACT.

Been there twice and the burger were ordinary at best, both times. It was ridiculously overpriced and the service adn wait times were disgusting. I spent 35 minutes in the cold surrounded for an overcooked, over-priced and way over-hyped burger that was already lukewarm at best.

Don’t care if it goes, it is nothing special.

I’ve just taken delivery of a whole container of newly minted bandwagons, made in South Korea and like their internet, guaranteed to spread fast. They all feature a finely crafted platform for jumping on, and the deluxe models come with a force field that makesit difficult for customers to jump ship. Mainly designed for Reiki and homeothapy practitioners, they are also ideal for fast food vendors and craft stores. These bandwagons have a guaranteed life of three months but businesses have been known to make them last quite a lot longer. Contact me for price and availability at http://www.bandwagons4u.com.au.

You know, I clicked on the link fully knowing what I would find. A little part of me hoped it existed.

I visit there alot, have had a good experience everytime…

I’m a pretty big fan of Brodburgers, but the wait times have put me off and we now make our “Brodburgers” at home. There’s less wait and guaranteed service with a smile!

I tried them once, when they were still fairly new, and I thought the burger was nice (but not spectacular), a bit expensive, and slow.

I haven’t bothered going back. If anything, this just highlights the crappy value Canberra offers food lovers generally.

What is happening to Brod Burger? Let me think… the service is getting worse for a start.

I thought I’d find out what all the hype was over.

Lined up for 15 minutes amongst some of the most stuck up and self absorbed people I have ever encountered, and all I received for it was a dodgy burger that wasn’t worth half the price. Tasted boring and was incredibly chewy.

Have fun lining up down there for that!

I heard there were second thoughts on forcing them to move for now. But I believe the powers that be still want to revamp the area they’re located to a more formal place to sell food.

Such a shame really, the informality of the location was part of the charm. It was a bit expensive sure and the wait was sometimes 25 minutes, but the food was good.

Jethro – there are plenty of things in life worth waiting 25 minutes for, a decent quality burger is just one of them.

No burger is worth waiting 25 minutes for.

25 mins… Such luxury!

The handful of times I have been there, it’s have almost always been a 45 minute wait.

That included one time when we arrived 15 minutes before opening and were first in the queue. Still had to wait 45 to get an overcooked burger.

They are nice, but definitely not worth the excessive waiting times.

their van is entirely the wrong shade of red…

No burger is worth waiting 25 minutes for. Like most of Canberra’s so-called ‘must-have’ food experiences, it is all a bit over-hyped IMHO. That being said it is in a nice little spot on the lake and it would be a shame to see them go.

As far as your question goes, why not email them and find out direct from the source?
