Whatever happened to David Palavi?

The ABC reports that the former Brumbies Hooker has been given a suspended sentence for biffing police:

The 28-year-old was charged with assaulting police last December, and for a separate assault in September.

Magistrate Michael Somes said the suspended sentence took into account two previous convictions for violent behaviour.

I’m glad the previous convictions were considered when handing out a fine, a suspended sentence, and some joke counselling.

You heard wrong. He is a thug who deserved a whole lot worse than he got. His brother is obviously a prize winning idiot after he punched that parked car – he must of thought it said something offensive to him first though. Brother wasn’t KO’ed he was a fool and David followed in true family fashion.

There are 2 sides to every story:
I heard from, a mate of his who was out with him and his brother that night, that it was all because the cops tried to stop him from helping out his brother who had been knocked out cold and was laying (unsurprisingly) on the footpath. I know he has reacted badly to them, but try putting yourself in the same situation and think how you might react to the police holding you back while your brother was not being assisted by anyone. Cops are not the do-gooders they make out to be, especially in town on a Sat night.

I find it amusing that he has “retired” from footy not long after the incident. It was reported that he retired because he hurt his neck. Firstly, If you look at the bloke he has no neck to hurt and secondly I wonder if he hurt it playing footy or fighting with and assaulting some of Canberras finest, in another drunken display of “celebrities acting bad”.

Either way the Brumbies and the ARU are much better off without him. Good ridence.

Alcohol problem? HOW ABOUT HE’S JUST A F&*KWIT?

He’s a good bloke. Seriously, a real good bloke. Attacking Police warrants a suspended sentence?

Cut his contract and send him home….

It is un-australian to punsih a sports star…
