How is it almost the end of March? This month seems to have raced by, probably in part because the past few weekends have been jam-packed with festivals (Art Not Apart, You Are Here, the Canberra Balloon Spectacular, Enlighten and more).

Highlights this weekend include Darren Hanlon at the Street Theatre, The Harvest Festival and CBR Brave’s season launch. What are your plans?

Fitness First Deakin Relaunch Party

Sports/outdoor activities

  • Fitness First Deakin is hosting a free, community event to celebrate the club’s new refurbishment and to say thanks to the community for their continued support. The family friendly event will be held on Saturday, 28 March (8am-2pm) at the club.
  • CBR Brave’s 2015 season launch kicks off at Reconciliation Place on Saturday from 10am. Participate in a boot camp led by Biggest Loser trainer Shannan Ponton, meet the players and sign up for a Brave membership.
  • After a hard earned summer break, your favourite Canberra Roller Derby League (CRDL) teams are back! Saturday’s 2015 season opener will see the Surly Griffins hit the track against the Red Bellied Black Hearts at Southern Cross Stadium at 6pm.
  • The Mont 24 Hour Race is on all weekend at East Kowen Forest.
  • Our own Lisa Martin is participating in the Canberra Battlefield Challenge at the Paintball Sports Ground over the weekend. She’ll be sharing her experiences on RiotACT early next week.

Something strange here – if the lights are turned off, how are you going to see me?
Oh, the folly of save the climate stunts like this.

You’ve got me there, dungfungus.

I’ll be carrying a carbon free, solar powered, renewable candle.
